Creative Vision Showcase: Laugh at Yourself

Good morning crafters!! Today I am sharing my DT inspiration creation for this week's 613 Avenue Create Challenge: Anything Goes:No Twist.  I hope you will join in the fun as well.  Be sure to check out the entire team's inspirational projects here.

For today's project I am featuring a really fun sentiment from Creative Vision Stamps: Laugh at Yourself.  What a great sentiment to add a little lightness/laughter to a situation! Great for so many occasions.

For the background I created a stencil mono print with Distress Ink and the Tim Holtz Harlequin stencil.  i added a bit more depth by stenciling in (with Black Soot Distress) a phone number lol.

To complement the sentiment I went into my stash and found some older Tim Holtz chipboard elements-the phones. They  were inked with Black Soot distress and then covered with Black Soot Distress embossing powder to give some great texture and a little bling was added too.
The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Black ink and I used the My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangles die to cut out, giving just a little more texture to the piece.

For this and many more fun sentiments be sure to check out the Creative Vision Stamp Store and be sure to join us this week for the Anything Goes Challenge at 613 Avenue.

Creative Vision Stamps: Another Candle...

Happy Monday all!  Just returned home from a beautiful weekend with family in Provincetown, MA. We brought our fur-baby Tanner and she just absolutely LOVED the beach. But back to reality this week and back to the STUDIO!
Today I am sharing a card I created as a DT inspiration for 613 Avenue Create Challenge blog- it features a great sentiment stamp from Creative Vision Stamps: Another Candle

Both stencil mono print backgrounds I grabbed from my background stash - some days I just spend all day in the studio creating different background pieces and then look to them for inspiration later on when creating a card!
I love using craft straws as candles and added some fabulous flames using a stencil, texture paste and distress glitter.

The craft straws were flattened and then run through my Xyron 1.5" Sticker Maker and adhered to the front of the card. The sentiment was stamped in VersaFine Black Onyx ink, cut out and adhered using the homemade Xyron dimensional foam tape.
Both backgrounds were matted onto Tim Holtz Kraft core card stock using the Xyron Mega Runner.

So join the fun this week for the 613 Avenue Create Challenge- as always anything goes with a optional twist Happy Birthday! You can never have too many b-day cards on hand!!

Creative Vision Stamps Showcase: Apothecary Labels

Good morning all! So excited to share with you today a sample I made for Creative Vision Stamps showcasing one of their brand new release stamps: Apothecary Labels.  I just love these new stamps and absolutely am ecstatic to start my Halloween projects using them!

This fabulous stamp set comes with 6 different stamps and I chose to use the CAT SCRATCH fever elixir stamp to make my label. I plan on doing a quick tutorial to show the steps to make the label look like an authentic old apothecary label so stay tuned for that!

The bottle was cut by hand from grunge board and covered with Ranger Crackle Paint Rock Candy.  After drying completely, I applied Brushed Cordouroy Distress Stain over top to give the look of and old brown apothecary bottle.
The background paper is from the Tim Holtz Laboratorie stash and was distressed with various colors of distress ink. The entire piece was framed using Tim Holtz tissue tape from the same collection.

So head on over to the Creative Vision Stamps store to get these stamps today! They are a must have for all your spooky Halloween creating and they are super fun! And be sure to check out the Creative Rewards Program.

Creative Vision Stamps Showcase

Happy Thursday! Today I am showcasing this adorable dog stamp from Creative Vision Stamps which I  used this week for the DT inspiration project at 613 Avenue Create!

Be sure to stop over to the 613 blog and play along with this week's CYOC!

For my card I used a stamped image, a sentiment, glossy accents, enamel dots, and baker's twine.

For those that know me- you know how much I love dogs!! So I was so excited to use this stamp in a project!  I got the idea for this project from my partner Katie who made me the best Mother's Day card from our doggies and used this stamp- and put wings on the doggie because our beloved Quincy had just passed away. I decided to to use the wings idea but put a different spin on it and use it as an "ethereal" get well card.

The sky background was created with various shades of blue Distress ink using a blending tool.
The clouds on this cards were created with texture paste and a stencil- then I placed Judykins sparkle embossing powder on the texture paste.  Normally I would wait for the paste to dry completely before heating the embossing powder, but this time I decided to heat it sooner to get some "puff" in the clouds.  When you heat texture paste it tends to puff out or bubble. This was a super cool effect I achieved!
The doggie was colored with Copic Markers and cut out and along with wings (die cut from grunge board and covered with Distress glitter) popped onto the card with dimensional foam tape. Enamel accents were used to make the eyes pop and glossy accents was applied to the bone!

The Get Well sentiment  and the heart (also from Creative Vision Stamps) was added along with the baker's twine!

Creative Vision Stamps Showcase

Good morning! With Father's Day coming soon, I thought I would share a card I made showcasing some great Creative Vision Stamps! It's hard to find a sentiment stamp set for Father's and Mother's Day but Creative Vision's has it! This card also features another stamp- Redwood Tree (3 sizes) which I love to use for making scenes as in this card.

The scene was created with Ranger Alcohol Inks on glossy paper and then stamped in Archival black-with varying sizes of the Redwood Tree. The main panel was layered onto the Postage stamp background using dimensional foam tape made with my Xyron Creative Station (check out the video here). The postage stamp frame was cut from black cardstock with Tim Holtz's Postage Stamp Bigz die and the edges were embossed with Distress embossing powder- Black Soot to give it the texture of an old picture frame. The main piece was then layered onto Bo Bunny paper and a black card front using my Xyron Creative station. The Happy Father's Day sentiment and some washi tape was then added as well to finish off the card!

I welcome all comments below! Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the fantastic selection of stamps at Creative Vision Stamp store and like their Facebook page to keep up with all the news!
