Hello all! I am so excited to announce today that I have been chosen to join the Design Team at the Cut it Up Challenge blog. Since I love die cutting as much as stamping I was so happy to apply for this team! This week's challenge is Challenge # 70 Paper Piecing. So in addition to using a die cut on your project you will need to use a stamped image that has been paper pieced.
Below is my inspiration for you!
For those who follow my blog- you well know that I have an obsession with coffee! I am a true Starbucks junkie! So in honor of my love of lattes, cappuccinos and the like- Let's take a Coffee Break!
Some of you may recognize this background from a previous Paper Smooches card I made- but this time I paper pieced with some plaid patterned paper and some DCWV woven paper and corrugate. I inked the background script paper with 4 colors of Ranger Distress ink to match the plaid patterned paper.
After stamping and cutting out the background pieces they were layered over the stamped images (paper pieced) and adhered using the Xyron 1.5" Sticker Maker- a must have for the avid paper piecer!!
I then die cut the larger coffee cups from Tim Holtz's Fresh Brewed die (which now rivals his Umbrella Man as my favorite) using complimenting patterned papers and woven paper. The coffee break stamp is from Technique Tuesday and I just loved how it looked to finish of the card as the focal point.
The cups and coffee break pieces where adhered using foam tape which I made using my Xyron Creative Station (see how to make your own here).
Finally I layered the card onto an inked piece of white woven paper and to a card front- using my Xyron Mega Runner
Hope you are inspired and you grab a cup of joe and join us this week for Challenge #70 on the Cut It Up Challenge Blog- check out the blog for more great inspiration from my super talented team members!
I love your project and I love coffee!
