Technique Junkies October Blog Hop

The  Technique Junkie Design Team is celebrating October with a blog hop showcasing all of the new designs for this month.  You should have arrived here from the amazing Beth Norman's blog. if not be sure to start there so not to miss all the great inspiration!

You can SAVE during these celebration days as well.  The October release stamps will be on SALE (15% OFF) until the 10th!  Be sure to check them out and take advantage of the sale!

I created 3 Holiday cards using the Merry Christmas Wishes stamp.  It was stamped with Versamark ink onto watercolor paper and then embossed with white embossing powder.
Over top I applied Distress Ink using a technique I learned from  Jennifer Mcguire.

Distress ink was applied to my craft sheet and then sprayed with pearlized water.  I then used my finger to actually paint this background.  This allows you more control than using a brush.

Thanks for joining me today and be sure to continue on the hop and don't miss any of the great inspiration from these talented artists.  Your next stop on the hop is the super talented Judy Jackson!

Below is the entire blog listing -be sure to check them all out and return to the TJ website where you can find and purchase all these fantastic stamps!

Merry Christmas!

Welcome back Junkies!  I am back today to share another project featuring  a few of the holiday themed stamps from Technique Junkies

I created the background by randomly stamping one of the Christmas trees from the set onto Neenah Desert Storm card stock with Ranger Dye Inks.  Then I applied distress markers over top using the Distress Marker spritzer by Tim Holtz to create the soft mist.  I added the circle Date-o-Matic and the sentiment to finish off the piece.  What a fun and festive- and quick Christmas note card!
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to join the Technique Junkies Design Team tomorrow for the October Blog Hop!

Merry & Bright- Stretch your Stamps!

Hello all! Thanks for joining me today- I am doing a two day series featuring Technique Junkies stamps leading into our October 1 blog hop-so I hope you will join me for all!

For today's project I decided to use a background stamp-one from the October "early" release called Baubles.  However I decided to use it in a different way.  I did indeed make a background with it- but then used the piece to die cut some carved ornaments (from Tim Holtz/Sizzix).

I started by stamping the entire background Baubles stamp onto Neenah White card stock using Versa Mark ink and covering with WOW silver embossing powder.  To give the piece a stained glass look- I colored the inside of each bauble with Zig Brush Markers.

Then I used distress inks and spray stains to color the entire piece (one in blues and one in greens).  Once colored and heat set the piece was use to die cut out the matching ornaments.
The card was finished by cutting the sentiment from corrugate card stock using Tim Holtz Christmas words thinlit dies and of course adding a little vintage grunge!
Please stop back by Friday for another feature of the TJ stamps and of course join us on Saturday for the Design Team Blog Hop!

Christmas is coming...with Technique Junkies

Happy Saturday Junkies! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with their loved ones.  Have we all recovered from the turkey and stuffing overload?? I know I haven't yet!  And of course the days after Thanksgiving mark the start of the Christmas season.  I have a fun card project today featuring just that!

I created an artsy background using the Technique Junkies  Christmas Trees, Set of 6 stamp set, alternating stamping with Ranger Dye Inks Electric Lime and Green.

To add a bit of pizzaz I sprayed the entire panel with red, green and white ink sprays to give it an abstract artsy feel.

The sentiment is from the Simple Sentiments 1b which contains so many great sentiments for every occasion- a must have!!  I added some stars for a bit of dimension and interest to the trees.
A simple yet artsy Christmas card to send to friends and family!
Thanks for joining me today and remember only 27 more crafting days left till Christmas!!
