Lucky is a state of mind....SSS Monday Challenge

I have been struggling with an idea for a St. Patrick's Day card-I embossed backgrounds with clovers, I paper pieced, I tried everything and I could not come up with a project idea.  THEN....I was inspired by this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.  The theme is Just a hint of clover....hmmm I thought- why not focus on the color green and the idea of LUCK.  Well then the ideas flowed, I decided to use Tim Holtz's Game Wheel blueprint stamp and water color it with greens, red and browns and place it on a layering stencil mono print background (I used Tim's Harlequin stencil) and as you may have figured out this is my FAVORITE technique- I find it so versatile and you get a different look every time.  Here's my project:

I am teaching a class at  Bella Art in Johnston, RI demonstrating this background  technique (stencil mono print with distress ink)- you can sign up here.
Some texture was added with Wendi Vecchi's Black embossing paste using the 1 & the 7 (for LUCKY 17) from Tim's stencil Numbered.  Of course I had to add a clover to give it that Luck O' the Irish feel - stamped with distress ink and water from the Stamps of Life set shamrocks4us. The sentiment- I love this one- is from  the idea-ology Small Talk stickers.
