You make me smile when skies are grey....

Check out this adorable card Katie made for the shades of grey challenge.  She used the shades of grey with a pop of color- she even included a sentiment inside- with a sun that says "You make me HAPPY when skies are grey".  Katie used the House Mouse stamp and colored with prismacolor pencils and gamsol, I love her use of the colors under the umbrella and with the frog to brighten this card.  She then outlined in grey copic and dark grey cardstock.  Another beautiful creation!!!

Guest artist-Katie!

A great card made for the Paper Smooches challenge by Katie, my girlfriend.  She made this adorable card using the Giddy Bugs stamp set.  The background is white paper embossed with clouds, colored over with Distress Ink Salty Ocean.  The "bug" was stamped and colored with prismacolor pencils and stickles glitter glue, cut out and "popped" on the card.  The sentiment "You make my life brighter" is from the same set.  A cute stamped sun was also cut out and popped on the card as a finishing touch.  Great job Katie, your work is awesome-so creative and colorful!  Love ya xo!

Today's project is for the CAS -ual Fridays (Clean and Simple) blog challenge.  The challenge is to make a CAS card in shades of grey.  I used Distress Ink Pumice Stone for the background - used a torn piece of scrap paper to mask off the sides to create the tattered window effect.  Then I stamped the Tim Holtz images Umbrella Man and the movie reel along with a pensive sentiment in Stone Grey Stazon Ink.  Finally I matted it also in shades of grey.  Umbrella Man is my absolute favorite image by Tim!

Paper Smooches Sparks-a third entry!!

So I was yet again inspired to test out my creativity for another entry into the Paper Smooches anything goes challenge.  This time using the Sugar Rush stamp set with a colorful rainbow theme!  The background was done using Tim Holtz Distress markers on watercolor paper and then spritzed with water to create the rainbow watercolor background.  Used a bubbled embossing folder to create some texture. Stamped the lollipops and colored them with distress inks and used distress stickles to create some sparkle! I used the sentiment "hey sugar" from the stamp set with a piece of red polka dot  ribbon under creating a banner effect!

Paper Smooches Anything Goes Challenge BUZZWORTHY entry

This is my second entry for the Paper Smooches challenge using the  Giddy Bugs stamp set. Embossed the yellow background card stock with the Tim Holtz embossing folder and went over it with squeezed lemonade distress ink. Colored the bee with the same color distress marker and used a bit of pearlized chalk for the background.  Added the sentiment BUZZWORTHY from the set and a few bee embellishments from Joann craft essentials.
