Love is in the Air

Happy Wednesday fellow crafters! I have received so many new products over the past few days I need an entire week in the studio to play! Today I decided to use my new (new to me) Ken Oliver Colorbust to create some fun backgrounds to use later in other cards.  I did end up using one of the backgrounds for the card I am sharing today for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Love is in the Air.
First here's a peek at some of the backgrounds I made using Ken's Spritz and Sprinkle technique.  I added my own flair to the technique by using some of the water reactive properties of the Colorburst to create some interesting textures on my backgrounds as well.
I have to say I am in love with this product, the colors are gorgeous.  I used Tim Holtz's watercolor paper and some Bristol smooth card stock today for my backgrounds.  Waiting on an order of Ken's Watercolor Media paper to see the differences in the surfaces. The Colorburst is definitely brighter on the Bristol paper but it doesn't take as much water as the watercolor paper of course.

The background I chose for my card project is not pictured above but to create it I used some warm colors from the Colorburst palette and then added Distress Ink over top with a stencil for some depth.  I stamped in Archival Black Soot the Tim Holtz Stamp  Ledger Script over the entire background.

I love the combination of colors here and by combining some Distress colors with the Colorburst background it just made the background really pop.
I used a sentiment from Tim's  From the Heart set as my focal point- heat embossed with clear embossing powder over black Versafine ink.

Added a few embellishments from the Ideology line and a heart I made from grungeboard covered with crackle paint and Distress stain.

Embrace Imperfection!
Pam
