Cut it Up Challenge Blog DT Inspiration

TGIF!! A long week it was after an amazing weekend at the beach and headed back today- camping with the pupsters this weekend at the beach.
For this week's Cut It Up Challenge the theme is Animals and of course you must use a die cut.

For my DT inspiration project I decided to make a Home Decor panel instead of a card! The project started out as a card design but I ended up stamping a piece of canvas board and mounting my project to it and it became something totally different!

This is a true mixed media piece as a I used corrugate to cut out the Tim Holtz Bird Silhouette - then sprayed it with Perfect Pearls Biscotti and inked with Ranger Distress Vintage Photo.
The background piece was one I had previously made using Tim Holtz's Eroded Metallic technique.

The canvas platform piece was stamped with My Favorite Things Woodgrain background stamp using Versamark Ink and finished with Pan Pastels.  I love the look of the Pan Pastels on the canvas!
Tim Holtz thinlits words were cut from black card stock, covered with clear embossing powder and heat set.  All pieces were adhered using the Xyron Creative Station loaded with the 9" permanent adhesive cartridge and the Xyron 1.5" Sticker Maker for the delicate words!

Thanks for joining me today and please join us for the Cut It Up Challenge this week- can't wait to see what you create!
